 Foreigners in Calpe: how they are?

Calpe or Calp Is a municipality in the province of Alicante in the Comunidad Valenciana. It is situated in the Marina Alta region and has  an notable population of 22,725 inhabitants ( INE 2019). The most significant fact is that more than 47% are foreigners.

Apparently, Ernest  Hemingway spent some summers in Calpe in the 30s  And Calpe has been a touristic centre since the 60s.

According to the data of 2008,  62,8% of the population is made up of foreigners, mainly people from Great Britain ( 15%) and Germany (13%). However, a third of this population has left since the crisis.
